We loved the library and thought it was a wonderful resource. We also enjoyed playing boules on your gravel drive, and giant jenga in the garden. it was excellent to be able to borrow bikes to get the bread in the morning and the restaurant next door was high class quality dining. Emma Ramsay, Lackford Lakes Barns (a great Suffolk get away), August 2010

Great week. Thank you. You created a great balance between feeling we had the place to ourselves but making sure we were being looked after. We are leaving behind too many restaurants, too many walks, and FAR too many rides. Hope to come again. Steve, August 2010

Chez Clare, a star in the night, a glass of wine and words spoken for hours. Thanks for everything. Stefan. July 2010

Thank you so much for making this stay so wonderful. We’ve had a great time, with lots of relaxation, good food and interesting chats. Your house is really beautiful, and you have impressed us with your cooking skills. Our first visit to Provence and we will certainly return. E and L, Norway, September 2009

Dear Clare – thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality, welcoming manner, excellent cooking lessons, glasses of wine, useful knowledge of the area, road trips, use of your lovely kitchen, your French, your music, your great chats, your wisdom, your bookcase, your patience, your generosity AND most of all for making this an unforgettable, outstanding memorable stay!! Will miss you. Rachel (the Kiwi) August 2009

Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home and for providing a safe haven for ‘our’ most treasured possession. Hopefully, next time we visit, we will make it to the top of the mountain. Thanks once again. S and S, London August 2009 (editor’s note: the treasured possession was a professional racing bike!)

We have had a wonderful holiday – and hardly a crossword. Clue: ‘The french cat in front of the water had the honour to be squeezed between the hill and an endless brew! (7,9). R and J, Lancashire, August 2009

Tres belle maison et superbe piscine. La region est superbe. Un vrai petit paradis pour les enfants. Switzerland, July 2009

As soon as we arrived and had the grand tour the words that came to mind were ‘Wow. The house, garden, pool and views are amazing. The next weeks are going to be fab’. And they were. Sun, pool, food, wine and wonderful company – with family. V and D, Leicestershire, July 2009

Brilliant place in a lovely location. Very many kms pedalled with plenty of pool time and a canoe trip Die to Saillans. All three routes up Mont Ventoux pedalled by several trip members…. Thanks for a great week and a perfect location – especially perfect for cycling. Three ascents of Ventoux and that was only the start of it! And many very relaxed hours spent in your garden by your pool… Thanks so much for a lovely time and a wonderful meal last night. Very relaxing, wonderful weather. See you again…. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely house – and providing warm accommodation for our bikes in between bouts up the mountain…..Thank you Clare for a fantastic week and for all your hospitality, topped off by a fabulous table d’hote meal last night!. The cycling and pool group, London and Paris, June 2009

The Gehrmann family from Germany wants to say a big THANK YOU for your hospitality during our two-week stay around easter.
As we almost in the middle of the night knocked on your door as we had no accommodation you instantly gave us a warm welcome in your chateau and for the next two weeks you made us feel at home.
Often we thought that your extraordinary house is somehow ‘magnetic’ without the need of seeing all the places around. We liked spending the days at the house and in your gardens – altogether a special place. The plan of the day was to have no plan.
Even though still springtime K, J and L enjoyed the pool. We, B and J, were fascinated by the beautiful landscape around, the calmness, peace and the light you only find in Provence.
So stressed as we were when we arrived we really recovered, refreshed and renewed – our energy came back.
The chateau itself is a treasure for its preserving the past but at the same time offering all the accommodities of today. For example, the kitchen is a wonderful location of coming together and everything you need to preapre healthy, mediterranian food is right at your hand.
But – what is even more important – it is a ‘living house’ as you, Clare, fill it with heart. We also had interesting and fruitful discussions about life that deveoloped spontaneously in between at various occasions.
We are happy that chance brought us together and we will always remember you and our stay here.
Hopefully we are able to see you again in future for which we wish you all the best and good luck. We appreciate your achievement highly. A bientot avec nos meilleurs salutations.
